Heaton Road Surgery: 4-8 session Salaried GP

We are looking for a 4-8 session Salaried GP to join our team at Heaton Road Surgery which was rated as outstanding at our last inspection by CQC.

We have a very supportive team and have daily meetings at our morning coffee break and again at lunchtime. These are opportunities to get advice on patient care and to share out the communal work fairly.

We are very welcoming to any ideas from all staff that will lead to a better patient journey and improved staff satisfaction. We encourage teamwork and support GPs with special interests.

We are an Emis Practice that uses a bespoke triage tool for all bookable appointments to assist the patient to be seen by the right person.

All documents are subject to a workflow process to ensure that GPs only deal with documents that have an action for them to complete.

Our team is currently made up of 3 GP Partners, 6 Salaried GPs, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, 2 Practice Managers, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Healthcare Assistant and 3 Care Coordinators with strong support from a motivated clerical team.

We also have a strong social prescribing team who are doing some fantastic work with our more complex patients, and we use a Pharmacy Hub who deal with all our medication changes from hospital discharges as well as many medications query tasks.

We are an active member practice of the Newcastle East PCN along with 6 other practices in the locality. This enables us to utilise additional staff to support us.

We follow the BMA contract and offer 6 weeks of annual leave pro rata plus 1 week of study leave and offer a competitive salary.

If you have any queries, please contact one of our Practice Managers Rebecca Graham on 0191 2655911 or at rebecca.graham6@nhs.net
