SALARIED GP - MATERNITY COVER FIXED TERM 12 MONTH CONTRACT
Roseworth Surgery has a very exciting opportunity for a qualified GP to join our practice on a 6-session basis to cover 12 months maternity leave. Newly qualified GPs are welcome.
We are friendly, welcoming practice situated in the residential area of Gosforth, north of Newcastle upon Tyne's city centre consisting of 4 partners and 1 Salaried GP supported by a strong wider practice team of management, nurses, and admin.
We are a well-established, committed training practice with 3 of the Partners as trainers. We also teach medical students from Newcastle university at a variety of stages.
As part of Jesmond/Lower Gosforth PCN we have access to a range of ARRS role staff including pharmacy technicians, care coordinators and paramedics.
· GMS practice with 5853 patients
· Low home visiting rate
· SystmOne supported with Accurx/Iplato/(Ardens (can be removed if you do not want this in)
· High QOF achieving
· CQC rating GOOD
· Special interest in Occupational Health.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to undertake all normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care including but not limited to:
· Delivering Medical Healthcare in line with the GMS contract, ICB contract and Public Health Contracts relevant to a General Practitioner
· Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare works within the organisation
· Asses the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
· Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
· Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice, disease management protocols, provide counselling and health education
· To undertake those daily tasks such as results, letters, reports, repeat prescribing etc for all patients as required
· Maximise effective use of current clinical computer systems. Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
· Clinically related administrative and non-clinical duties necessary for the delivery of GMS.
· To take part in/lead on areas including clinical auditing and data collection
· Participating in the training and development of nurses, medical students, and GP trainees
· Provide free certification in line with Schedule 9 of the GMS regulations (1992)
· Ensuring compliance with the Partnership Protocols and Policies with regard to achieving QOF targets
· House visits when required
· On call rota

Qualifications
Essential
· Registered with the GMC listed on the GMC GP Register with evidence of revalidation
· Accepted Medical Degree
· Registered on the National Medical Performers List.
· Must have current UK professional registration.
