Thornfield Medical Group: Salaried GP - 10k per session

A Salaried GP position has become available at Thornfield Medical Group which is rated as Outstanding by CQC. The role could be either full or part time as we recognise the importance for our team to have the 'right fit' with sessions.

We offer a competitive salary of 10k per session, 6 weeks annual leave, 1 weeks study leave plus CPD and we follow the Model BMA contract.

Clinics are 13 patients ( mix of telephone and F2F) and are 15 min appointment slots. Clinic times can be adjusted to fit with personal circumstances.

We operate a holiday rota to ensure everyone gets a fair opportunity to share in school holidays if desired.

We are located in the Byker and Shieldfield areas of Newcastle upon Tyne and serve a varied population from University students, young professionals, families, and elderly residents.

We work within a fully supported team who has embraced the new models of care within the GP forward view through the employment of a multi-disciplinary clinical and administrative teams to support the GP role. We also employ a in house pharmacists, ANP's, Mental Health Worker, Advanced Paramedic Practitioner, Practice Nurses, 5 HCA's, clinical coders and medical secretaries to process electronic referral bookings. Our practice team are also supported by ARR, SPLW's and Pharmacist roles. The practice is also preparing to use the Nuth Pharmacy Hub for medicines management services from January 2022.

All patients are triaged prior to a clinical consultation by a bespoke triage tool (ensures the patient sees the correct clinician the first time).

We are a teaching practice for the VTS and F2 training schemes. We also teach medical students.

The practice has an urgent care hub which is supported by a duty team to deal with acute issues and urgent house calls.
